About Xernel the company

Xernel is a young¹ software product company with a purpose of providing all kinds of servicing businesses new ways to serve their customers. We are purely a technology company, trying to make it easy to leverage presence and instant messaging with existing services. Thus, we are specialized in web services and instant messaging; more about this with our offering.

Customers

Our primary target segment are major Internet companies—mainly because of business drivers—but we’re also looking into supporting smaller services and standalone developers. The technologies we’re leveraging should concern pretty much everyone who is involved in creating Internet services, and we are eager to support new business models that are emerging as the Internet is evolving into a platform. Xernel is about Internet service mediation technologies, which the web is an example of.

Culture

There’s really not enough substance to talk about our own corporate culture yet, but our environment consists of small, independent enterprises. We see value in high specialization and everyone being responsible for their own deliveries, thus being rewarded by their own full value. We see this being in line with the dynamic and scale-free information business. Furthermore, we intend to keep the product structure aligned to our organization, and not force the organization to suit a specific kind of a product. With this kind of a management philosophy, we hope to give our people a chance to do what they’re best at.² This should also help to reduce mediocrities in our products, but—perhaps even more fundamentally—it lets us strive for passion.

We are currently located in Helsinki, Finland.
